Questions and Answers about the Musicorum Subscription
How does the Musicorum subscription work?
We offer the license models Basic and Unlimited as monthly subscriptions. You pay a fixed monthly fee and in return receive access to all features of Musicorum included in the respective license package.
Once you have decided on a subscription, please contact us by email at contact@musicorum.de. We will then send you the completed contract. Once it has been signed and returned to us, we will activate your access.
How much does Musicorum cost?
The price you pay depends on the chosen license model. You can find the monthly price in the table above. The use of the Musicorum App is free of charge.
What license models are available?
Each association is linked to a license model, which determines the quotas you have for various units. These include quotas for association members, music pieces, albums, and parts. You benefit by not paying for quotas you do not need. There are three different license models in total:
Demo
This license model is intended for interested new customers. All features of Musicorum can be tested and it is free of charge. The difference from other license models lies in the number of music pieces, albums, and users that can be created.
Basic
This license model is the entry point into Musicorum. All features are equipped with sufficient quotas to serve smaller and medium-sized orchestras. This subscription model renews automatically on a monthly basis unless cancelled.
Unlimited
This license model removes all quota restrictions, allowing unlimited pieces, parts, and albums. This model also renews monthly.
What is the "Self-Hosted" license model?
With the Self-Hosted license model, you operate Musicorum on your own server infrastructure or in your own cloud account. This gives you full control over data management, security, and integrations into your existing IT environment.
You acquire a license to use the software and receive regular updates and technical support within the scope of your contract. Responsibility for operation, backup, monitoring, and availability of the environment lies with you or your IT service provider.
Musicorum App
The Musicorum App, which you can download from the regular Apple or Google App Store, unfortunately does not work with other servers. It therefore cannot connect to your own server. If you wish to use the Musicorum App, you need a customized version of the app. Upon request, we will create this app for you and submit it to the app stores. Your members can then download the app for free as usual.
Can I switch between license models?
New associations always start with the Demo license model.
Upgrading license models
An upgrade from a smaller model to a larger one is possible at any time. Please send us an email at contact@musicorum.de. Your current subscription will end early and start fresh from the date of the confirmation email sent to you.
Downgrading license models
A downgrade of license models is possible with 30 days' notice before the end of the billing period. Please inform us of your wish to switch by email. Please note that if you exceed the quota of the new license model, you will not be able to make changes to existing and new entries.
Switching to a "Self-Hosted" model
Switching to a Self-Hosted license model may not be straightforward depending on the scope. Please feel free to send us an email with your specific request and we will analyze possible options with you.
What deadlines do I need to observe?
Switching to a higher-value license model
Switching to a higher-value model is possible at any time. There are no deadlines to observe.
Switching to a lower subscription/license model
A downgrade is possible with 30 days' notice before the end of the billing period.
How does cancellation work?
If you decide to cancel an existing subscription, you can currently only do so by email at contact@musicorum.de. Please note that a cancellation must be received by us in writing at least 30 days before the end of the billing period. In the confirmation email, we will inform you of the final cancellation date.
Upon reaching the cancellation date, your association will be moved to the free Demo model. To avoid violating the license, all units will be deleted until the maximum quotas are no longer exceeded. Specifically, this means we will delete music pieces, parts, etc. until the maximum number is no longer exceeded. Memberships will also be removed, but only the user accounts will be decoupled from the association.
If you wish, we will export all your music pieces (in CSV format) as well as uploaded PDF files before they are deleted.
